XP blacklist

Channels where messages do not earn XP. Stops members from farming the leaderboard via bot-commands or off-topic spam.

Where it lives

Dashboard: Levelling → XP Blacklist.

Typical channels to blacklist

  • #bot-commands — members would farm XP by spamming /help over and over
  • #spam / #off-topic — non-substantive chat shouldn't level you
  • #counting — the Counting game would spike XP for whoever sits there
  • #nsfw (sometimes) — if you don't want NSFW-only members to dominate

Setting up

Click Add channel, pick from the channel dropdown, save. Members posting in that channel get no XP from message activity. Voice XP is unaffected.

Tips

  • Blacklist conservatively. Blacklisting too aggressively starves your leaderboard and removes the incentive to engage.
  • A blacklisted channel still counts for cooldowns. If a member posts in a blacklisted channel, the 60s cooldown timer doesn't reset — so they can't post in #bot-commands then immediately post in #general and double-dip.

Limits

  • 200 entries per guild.

Permissions

  • levelling.view — see the list
  • levelling.edit — add / remove channels
